The Emlite ECA2 bi-directional generation meter is required for PV installations with hybrid battery storage and to replace existing old meters if DC storage is retrofitted.
For example, if you are replacing a standard SolaX X1 Boost Solar Inverter for a SolaX X1 Hybrid Inverter for battery storage, you must also replace the generation meter for one of these bi-directional meters.
The Emlite ECA2 bi-directional generation meter displays three different readings: Import, Export and Net (import deducted from Export.)
OFGEM guidance says that any DC coupled battery system on a FiT installation which has the ability to charge from the AC (regardless of whether it is set up or not) must have a bi-directional meter installed in order to claim the FiT.

The Emlite ECA2 single phase meter provides a compact solution for many metering applications. Fully approved in accordance with the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID), this highly accurate meter may be used for utility billing or micro-generation metering. The ECA2 single phase meter is one of the worlds most compact metering devices allowing the unit to be used in metering installations where space is at a premium.

The display features 8×3.5mm characters and can be configured to auto cycle any of the available registers or remain static with only a single register viewable.
