The Fox ESS EQ5000 4.92kWh Master Battery (EQ5000-M) starts a conventional Fox ESS EQ5000 high-voltage battery stack. It combines a heated LiFePOโ‚„ battery module with the controller / BMS required to manage the complete stack.

Important: The EQ5000-M cannot operate alone. A conventional EQ5000 system requires 1x Master plus at least 1x EQ5000-S Slave battery, giving a minimum nominal capacity of 9.84kWh.

PowerQ / PQ1 systems: The Fox ESS PowerQube / PQ1 all-in-one inverter uses 2-6 EQ5000-S Slave batteries directly and does not require an EQ5000-M Master battery.

Battery sizing varies by inverter: H1 / AC1, KH / KA and H3 Smart systems support 2-6 EQ5000 batteries; H3 / AC3 systems require 3-6; and H3 Pro supports up to 12 batteries across the supported multi-stack arrangement. Every conventional battery stack requires its own Master.

Fox ESS EQ5000 4.92kWh Master Battery – EQ5000-M

Build a compact, scalable high-voltage storage system with the Fox ESS EQ5000 4.92kWh Master Battery. Designed for compatible Fox ESS hybrid and AC-coupled inverters, the EQ5000 uses safe lithium iron phosphate (LiFePOโ‚„) battery chemistry in a modular, floor-standing design.

The EQ5000-M Master combines a 4.92kWh battery module with the system controller / Battery Management System required to manage a conventional EQ5000 battery stack. EQ5000-S Slave batteries are added in series to increase voltage and storage capacity.

Important: The EQ5000-M cannot operate as a standalone 4.92kWh battery. A conventional EQ5000 stack requires 1x Master and at least 1x Slave, providing a minimum nominal capacity of 9.84kWh.

PowerQ distinction: Do not order this Master for a Fox ESS PowerQube / PQ1 all-in-one system. PowerQ / PQ1 systems use 2-6 EQ5000-S Slave batteries directly beneath the inverter, without a separate EQ5000-M.

How conventional stacks are built: Each conventional EQ5000 stack contains 1x EQ5000-M Master plus the supported number of EQ5000-S Slave modules. A two-battery stack contains 1x Master and 1x Slave; a three-battery stack contains 1x Master and 2x Slaves.

H3 Pro: Fox ESS lists support for 2-12 EQ5000 batteries. Because each series stack is limited to six modules, systems above six batteries use the supported multi-stack arrangement and require one Master per stack. Confirm the final design against the exact inverter model and current Fox ESS guidance.

Do not mix EQ5000 modules with EQ4800 or other Fox ESS battery models in the same stack unless Fox ESS has explicitly approved that configuration.
